About me
I am Aliza Islam, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in bioinformatics at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. I thrive on creativity, empathy, and fostering meaningful connections, with a strong passion for problem-solving in healthcare and technology. My academic journey, combined with my background in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, has equipped me with a solid foundation in bioinformatics' scientific and technical aspects.
I recently completed the INSPECT Fellowship and attended the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky, where I engaged in meaningful discussions about the intersection of science and policy. These experiences enhanced my understanding of how innovation and policy can shape impactful change, aligning with my integrity and social responsibility values.
I am deeply committed to detail-oriented work and understanding the needs of others, whether in collaborative team settings or while tackling complex challenges independently. My experience working with international NGOs has sharpened my communication and project management skills, enabling me to navigate technical and interpersonal challenges effectively. I am continually expanding my knowledge in project management and data analysis to create solutions that benefit organizations and communities.
